Log Building
![]() |
When it comes to log-home building, most people picture a dark rustic cabin someplace in the woods. Those days are long gone! Log homes can be very modern without losing their touch of nature. At Amarok Timber & Log we are known for our square-timber log homes with interlocking dovetailed corner notches. Such very traditional chinked-style homes were commonly built by early settlers in the eastern part of the continent. For our exterior walls, we usually use 8 inch by 12 inch timbers (or larger). The chinking lines between each round enhance the beauty of the timbers. |

Round-log homes are also available in the Scandinavian style, using a full-scribed technique. Saddle notches at the corners, as well as an 'overscribing' method ensure a tight fit of the logs once they settle. For your electrical needs, we pre-drill all the chases. We cut roof logs to pitch according to plans and also cut and reinforce openings so doors and windows can be installed. You have your choice of Douglas Fir, Western White Pine or Spruce. |
