About Amarok Timber & Log Ltd
Uli Migl, the owner/operator of the company, has over 20 years of combined timber framing and logwork experience. Before he came to Canada, he went through a 3 year Apprenticeship Program in Timberframing and worked as a Journeyman in Germany for several years. In 1996, he went back to school to become a Certified Master Timber Framer. Uli's passion for wood followed him around the world and he continued working for various log-building companies in Canada before he founded his own company, Amarok Timber & Log, in 2005.

Our Mission:
As a small company we are only able to take on a limited number of projects per year, in which we take extra care and pride. Our goal is to deliver quality craftsmanship and to exceed our customer's expectations!
About The Company Name
While searching for a suitable name for our company we came across AMAROK, the name of a gigantic wolf in Inuit Mythology. The Amarok is said to hunt down and devour anyone foolish enough to hunt alone at night. Unlike real wolves who hunt in packs, the Amarok hunts alone.
The inuit name Amarok is often translated as timberwolf. With our specialty in timber framing, and our love for our wolf-looking Inuit dogs, the choice seemed natural :
Our company name is in honor of all remaining Canadian Inuit Dogs and our beloved girl Gulu who left us in the summer of 2009 !
